Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) on long-distance interprovincial routes.
• Safely load, secure, and unload various types of cargo according to company procedures.
• Plan and execute routes efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate driver logbooks, mileage records, and delivery documentation.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, speed limits, and road safety regulations.
• Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and maintained in excellent operational condition.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (or equivalent) driver's license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Significant experience as a long-distance truck driver in South Africa.

• Clean driving record with no major infringements.
• Proven ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
