The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Madrid seeks an interpreter/translator and intercultural mediator to facilitate access to rights and services for migrants at a reception center. You will bridge language barriers and support protection, legal aid, health and community teams.

Required Arabic and Spanish fluency; a secondary diploma is essential, a social sciences or humanities degree is a plus. Prior experience in multicultural international contexts is valued.

Formación

• Secondary school diploma required.
• Fluency in Arabic and Spanish is mandatory.
• Progressive experience in a similar role is an asset.
• Experience in international organizations, NGOs, or governmental settings is advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Facilitate effective communication between staff and beneficiaries through interpretation and translation.
• Support multiple teams (protection, legal assistance, community engagement, health, center management).
• Act as intercultural mediator and promote understanding of cultural differences.
• Inform staff about cultural and social aspects relevant to beneficiaries.
• Coordinate with external service providers for interpretation as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and data protection; perform related duties.
