Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join a diversified manufacturing operation in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on driving operational excellence through process analysis, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements across production lines.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, 3+ years in manufacturing, and strong Lean/Six Sigma capabilities, with proficiency in Excel and CAD for layout design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial engineering in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM).
• Six Sigma experience is a plus (Green Belt desirable).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel) and manufacturing process analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes, workflows, and data to identify inefficiencies and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or related methodologies.
• Design and optimize layouts and material flow to improve efficiency and safety.
• Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work times and improve productivity.
• Monitor KPIs related to production output, quality, and cost, and report trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain improvements.
• Develop and implement visual management tools and SOPs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste ( defects, overproduction, inventory ).
• Support implementation of new equipment or technologies to enhance efficiency.
• Train and mentor personnel on process improvement techniques.
