Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd in Zurich, Switzerland, seeks a Data Management Manager to oversee data governance and strategy enabling digital transformation across the BU. You will align with AI, Enterprise Architecture, and Cybersecurity teams to drive data ownership and quality, while supporting the new analytics capabilities.

You will lead a community for data stewardship, coordinate with Corporate and GPGs, and ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy standards.

Qualifications

• Significant experience (10+ years) in data governance and architecture.
• Proven delivery of a cross-functional data strategy or governance program.
• Experience establishing data ownership and stewardship in a federated organization.
• Technical fluency across ERP/master-data (SAP), PLM/MES/CRM, cloud data platforms and data catalogues/APIs.
• Industrial background preferred (energy, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure or automation).
• Leadership through influence with strong ability to bridge business and technical teams.
• Good to have: CDMP or change management certifications.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the BU's 1-3 year Data Management roadmap, enabling strategic business priorities.
• Establish Data Domain ownership and clarify Owner, Steward and Custodian responsibilities.
• Define and maintain the data quality framework, cataloguing and metadata management.
• Shape the BU’s data platform strategy and harmonized models across ERP, PLM, CRM and other systems.
• Ensure data readiness and governance for AI and Generative AI use cases.
• Build and run the BU Data Management virtual community and drive data ownership culture.
• Act as trusted advisor between Corporate, BU, GPGs and Functions to translate needs into data requirements.
• Oversee end-to-end data initiatives and coordinate cross-functional improvements.
