You will shape and execute proactive talent acquisition strategies, building sustainable pipelines of qualified professionals to support essential operations. Leading a team of global recruiters, you will strengthen sourcing capabilities, improve recruitment performance, and ensure consistent candidate experiences across regions. Working closely with international stakeholders and national offices, you will align workforce planning with operational needs while promoting collaboration and continuous learning. The role combines strategic leadership, data-driven decision-making, and hands-on recruitment expertise in a diverse, multicultural environment. Your work will directly contribute to a humanitarian mission focused on expanding access to safe surgical care and strengthening healthcare systems.

Accountabilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage Global Recruiters assigned to the maritime sector, ensuring recruitment, sourcing, applicant engagement, and performance targets are achieved.

  • Supervise sourcing leads, Talent Community management, and candidate phone-screening activities.

  • Promote continuous learning and professional development through regular feedback, coaching, and training in Boolean search techniques and data mining.

  • Develop and implement sector-specific recruitment strategies aligned with current and future global workforce requirements.

  • Shift recruitment toward proactive talent sourcing by engaging qualified candidates through professional associations, specialist job boards, social media, and relevant networks.

  • Use volunteer personas and candidate motivators to tailor recruitment messaging and attraction strategies to the needs of the maritime sector.

  • Build and maintain relationships with international professional networks to establish sustainable pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions.

  • Monitor recruitment metrics, analyze pipeline performance, and use data insights to improve sourcing strategies and recruitment outcomes.

  • Prepare and present regular performance reports highlighting challenges, strategies, and measurable impact.

  • Promote consistent use of the organization's integrated HR and recruitment systems, including Greenhouse and Salesforce, to maintain comprehensive candidate records.

  • Manage sector-specific recruiter dashboards to monitor pipeline health, workload distribution, and recruitment progress.

  • Serve as the main liaison between international support teams and sector recruitment teams, ensuring alignment and consistency across regions.

  • Hold regular meetings with national offices to communicate staffing needs, address local recruitment challenges, and clarify qualification standards.

  • Encourage transparent communication, constructive problem-solving, and a collaborative, blame-free working environment.

  • Uphold the organization's mission and core values throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a professional and mission-centered candidate experience.

  • Support a smooth transition from candidate selection to onboarding by identifying and resolving recruitment process challenges.

Requirements:

  • At least five years of recruitment experience, including demonstrated leadership of global, international, or cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in technical recruitment is preferred, particularly for maritime or other specialized operational roles.

  • Proven ability to proactively source and engage passive candidates and develop effective talent pipelines.

  • Experience working across different time zones, cultures, and international stakeholder groups.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret recruitment metrics, manage dashboards, and translate data into actionable improvements.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and applicant tracking systems; experience with Greenhouse is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication skills, combined with a strong service-oriented approach.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment.

  • A collaborative leadership style, with a commitment to coaching, team development, continuous improvement, and constructive problem-solving.

  • Support for the organization's faith-based mission, vision, core values, and community philosophy.

  • Ability to contribute positively to a close-knit community environment, demonstrating emotional maturity and healthy interpersonal relationships.

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

  • Previous experience in an NGO, humanitarian organization, international environment, or maritime recruitment is an advantage.

  • Successful completion of the organization's entry training program is required within the first year of employment.

Benefits:

  • Full-time, permanent, paid position.

  • Remote working arrangement, with the role advertised across the United States and Europe.

  • Annual compensation range of USD $65,000-$70,000 for U.S.-based hires. Compensation for hires in other countries, including Germany, may vary according to location.

  • Opportunity to lead global recruitment strategies and develop talent pipelines for specialized maritime positions.

  • International collaboration with teams and stakeholders across diverse cultures and regions.
