Job summary

Preply is seeking a Fraud Prevention Manager to lead a global fraud operations team, overseeing investigations, chargebacks, and risk strategy for a thriving online learning marketplace. You will shape the function’s roadmap, set standards, and partner with Product, Payments and Finance to reduce fraud while maintaining a trusted learner and tutor experience.

You’ll drive governance, define processes, and mentor a high-judgement team.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years in fraud or payments risk
• Proven leadership in marketplace/fintech or ecommerce
• Experience translating data into priorities and actions
• Collaborates effectively with Product and Data teams

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Fraud Specialists team with clear expectations
• Own Fraud Operations roadmap and priorities
• Design and formalise investigation standards and workflows
• Define and track fraud KPIs (chargeback rate, SLAs, false positives)
• Establish governance cadence with Finance and senior leadership
• Translate day-to-day fraud observations into actionable Product/Data requirements
• Coordinate with Product, Payments and Finance to embed fraud risk in decisions
• Oversee workforce planning and capacity management
• Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to leadership
• Drive continuous process improvements through root-cause analysis and tooling updates
