Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform planned maintenance, hardware and software upgrades, and assist with installations and deinstallations. You will provide first-line service to customers and travel within the service area, prioritizing customer satisfaction and KPI targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Engineering degree in Medical, Electrical, Mechanical, Biology, or Biomedical Technology preferred.
• Proven track record in a similar position with management and customer references.
• Experience engaging with customers, especially laboratory staff.
• Technical expert for product line responsibility.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to identify and drive resolution of issues.
• Strong experience with analytical tools and software.
• Good computer skills and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line service to customers and perform interventions within 4 hours.
• Schedule and perform planned maintenance and PdM activities.
• Schedule, perform and document hardware and software updates (TSBs).
• Assist with instrument installations and deinstallations.
• Travel within the service area and maintain high customer satisfaction metrics.
