Job summary

Align Technology seeks a Sr. Manager, Regional Privacy Lead - EMEA to operationalize and scale the Privacy Program across Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

You will ensure GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, and AI-related regulatory compliance while partnering with Legal, Regulatory, and Quality teams to enable lawful data use and business growth. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years professional experience, with at least 5 in privacy risk management.
• Healthcare/medical device experience preferred.
• Track record of building or managing elements of a privacy program (policies, training, incident management).

Responsibilities

• Lead regional privacy program for EMEA, translating global strategy into region-specific plans.
• Ensure GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy compliance; monitor regulatory developments and advise on lawful bases, consent, retention, and rights.
• Adapt global policies to reflect local regulatory needs and draft regional SOPs/guidance as needed.
• Oversee privacy risk assessments, DPIAs, privacy reviews, AI assessments and data governance across initiatives.
• Lead RoPA oversight, accountability documentation and transfer mechanisms; collaborate with Global Privacy teams.
• Manage third-party privacy risk; provide guidance on data processing agreements with vendors.
• Support customer privacy inquiries, due diligence, RFPs and contractual negotiations.
• Oversee data subject rights responses, incident management and regulatory reporting with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and deliver privacy training tailored to EMEA business functions; drive awareness and accountability.
