Job summary

Set Europa is seeking a Core Services Technical Lead with 15+ years in IT infrastructure to drive Identity and Access Management transformations in a remote, freelance capacity across Europe.

You will own the delivery of IAM modernization projects, oversee cloud and directory migrations, and coordinate across distributed teams to ensure governance, risk management, and smooth handovers to production.

Contract: Freelance (6-12 months)

Our client is a recruitment consultancy specializing in IT, Finance, HR, and Digital Technology. We are seeking an experienced Core Services Technical Lead with strong expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Enterprise Command Centre operations to lead complex initiatives within a large-scale enterprise transformation programme.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of professional experience, combining a strong technical background in identity infrastructure with proven experience delivering IAM transformation projects. The role requires an operations-oriented professional capable of managing technical delivery, service roadmaps, governance, financial controls, and stakeholder coordination across distributed teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead end-to-end delivery of Identity and Core Services transformation initiatives.
• Manage IAM modernization projects, including Okta-to-Microsoft Entra ID migrations, MFA implementations, and Active Directory cloud transitions.
• Oversee the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
• Coordinate all delivery phases, including scoping, planning, requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and service transition.
• Manage project plans, milestones, budgets, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Ensure operational readiness, service continuity, and smooth handover into production.
• Maintain governance documentation, including RAID logs, status reports, and delivery dashboards.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Proactively identify, escalation, and resolve risks and delivery challenges.

REQUIREMENTS

• 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, enterprise operations, technical delivery, or related roles.
• Strong technical expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Proven experience delivering IAM-related transformation and modernization projects.
• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), MFA, and identity infrastructure.
• Experience with Okta-to-Entra ID migrations, Active Directory modernization, or cloud identity transitions.
• Familiarity with Quest identity and Active Directory migration tools.
• Strong background in IT operations and enterprise service management.
• Experience coordinating complex technical workstreams within large transformation programmes.
• Strong governance, risk management, financial oversight, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to coordinate distributed technical teams and manage multiple dependencies.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Professional proficiency in English.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with Enterprise Command Centre or centralized IT operations environments.
• Experience in large multinational organizations.
• Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
