Siemens Mobility is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the Rail Signalling team in Madrid. You will develop highly secure C software for critical railway control systems, directly impacting safety, reliability, and efficiency of global transit networks.

You will drive the software lifecycle from specification to validation and support, collaborate with international teams, and contribute to AI-driven testing and automation efforts.

Formación

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Solid experience with C programming in demanding technical environments.
• Fluency in English and Spanish to collaborate with global teams.

Responsabilidades

• Develop C software components for SIL4 safety-critical systems.
• Drive the complete software lifecycle from spec to integration and validation.
• Explore and implement AI-based solutions to automate tasks and testing.
• Collaborate with international, multidisciplinary teams on high-impact railway projects.

Your mission in our team Joining our Rail Signalling team, you will develop highly secure C software for critical railway control systems. Your code will directly impact the safety, reliability, and efficiency of global transit networks, shaping the future of mobility. You'll make a difference by

• Developing and evolving C software components applying best engineering practices for SIL4 safety-critical systems.
• Driving the complete software lifecycle: from specification, design, and coding to integration, validation, and customer support.
• Exploring and implementing AI-based solutions to automate tasks, optimize testing, and boost engineering capabilities.
• Collaborating with international, multidisciplinary teams on high-impact technological projects for leading railway operators.
• Progressively taking on facilitation responsibilities within your Agile team, helping to remove impediments and foster collaboration.

Your success is grounded in A Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Solid experience or strong knowledge in C programming within demanding technical environments.
• A strong foundation in object-oriented programming, software architecture, and robust solution design.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish to collaborate effectively with distributed global teams.
• A collaborative mindset, technical curiosity, and a genuine motivation to develop software with a real social impact.

You'll thrive even more if you also bring

• Familiarity with CENELEC EN50128 / EN50716 software life cycle standards and railway signaling systems.
• Knowledge of requirements management tools like DOORS or Polarion.
• Experience or strong interest in Agile methodologies, with the motivation to evolve into a Scrum Master role.
