Siemens Mobility is seeking a Power Electronics System Engineer to design high-performance traction power converters for regional trains. You will drive design, modelling, and validation to boost efficiency and reliability across our railway systems.

Formación

• Background in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience designing power converters (inverters, choppers, rectifiers).
• Ability to select power semiconductors and magnetic components.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Fluent English communication.

Your Mission as a Power Electronics System Engineer

You will become a vital part of our traction team, where technology meets purpose. In this role, you will drive the creation and calculation of high-performance power converters, directly influencing the efficiency and innovation of our state-of-the-art railway systems.

The Challenges Ahead

• Lead the design and development of advanced power converter topologies for traction applications.
• Ensure optimal performance by performing dynamic electrical calculations and simulations.
• Transform requirements into robust design specifications, ensuring reliability from the start.
• Collaborate with partners, managing technical interfaces with suppliers to guarantee quality components.
• Optimize and innovate, solving technical issues while considering thermal performance and EMI compliance.
• Support the lifecycle, providing technical expertise from the initial concept through to implementation and testing.

What Will Make Your Application Stand Out

• A background in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or similar) with a strong passion for power electronics.
• Experience in the design, development, and testing of power converters, including inverters, choppers, and rectifiers.
• Capability to select appropriate power semiconductors and magnetic components to meet efficiency goals.
• Familiarity with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and a curiosity for emerging technologies.
• An analytical mindset combined with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments.
• Fluency in English to communicate effectively with our global network.
