UST, a multinational technology services leader, is seeking a Mid-Level Big Data Developer to join an international team. You will design, develop, and optimize data processing solutions using Spark and SQL, collaborating with stakeholders across business and tech domains.

Key tasks include ETL design, Spark pipelines, and data quality, with an emphasis on Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices. Remote work within Spain offered, with strong English proficiency expected.

Formación

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or similar roles.
• Strong SQL knowledge including ANSI SQL, Hive SQL, Spark SQL, and general SQL development.
• Solid hands-on experience with Apache Spark.
• Experience in Big Data environments (Azure Databricks, Amazon EMR, Hive, Cloudera, Spark ecosystem).
• Experience with programming languages (Scala, Python, Java).
• Reporting experience using Qlik Sense.
• Experience in Agile environments and knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; ability to analyze requirements with stakeholders.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher (C1 preferred).

What we look for?

We are looking for a Mid-Level Big Data Developer to join an international team responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing data processing solutions within a strategic Client Contribution platform.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing data processing solutions, working with modern Big Data technologies and collaborating closely with both technical and business stakeholders.

Main tasks and accountabilities will be:

• Design and develop ETL and data transformation processes.
• Implement and maintain Spark-based data pipelines.
• Support data integration initiatives across the platform.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related issues.
• Ensure data quality, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to analyze and improve requirements.
• Contribute proactively to the continuous improvement of data solutions and development processes.
• Work within Agile teams following DevOps and Continuous Integration practices.

What do we expect from you?

Mandatory requirements:

3+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or similar roles.

Strong SQL knowledge, including:

• ANSI SQL
• Hive SQL
• Spark SQL
• General SQL development

Solid hands-on experience with Apache Spark.

Experience with at least one of the following programming languages:

• Scala
• Python
• Java

Experience in Big Data environments such as:

• Azure Databricks
• Amazon EMR
• Hive
• Cloudera
• Any Spark-based ecosystem

Reporting experience using Qlik Sense.

Experience working in Agile environments.

Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps methodologies.

Experience with tools such as:

• Git
• GitHub
• Sonar
• Nexus

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Ability to analyze requirements and work with stakeholders to improve solutions.

English proficiency at B2 level or higher (C1 preferred).

Nice to have:

Interest in AI-assisted development tools.

Curiosity about leveraging AI-driven approaches to improve:

• Data Engineering
• Automation
• Analytics processes

Passion for innovation and continuous learning.

Work mode: remote within Spain.
