Julius Baer in Madrid seeks a skilled software engineer to design, develop, and test modules for a sophisticated order management platform. You will lead integration efforts with the future core banking system and with secondary market trading operations, while guiding the DevOps team during deployments.

You will contribute to the Software Solutions strategy for the Order Management division and maintain the system, identifying proactive enhancements to ensure robust performance and security.

Formación

• Experience with order management systems, including routing and capture.
• Strong Oracle PL/SQL development and performance tuning.
• Solid Linux and Bash scripting skills for automation.
• Proficiency in Java or .NET and understanding application context.
• Knowledge of messaging protocols: Kafka, IBM MQ; event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with financial messaging standards: FIX, ISO20022 (PAIN).
• Proficient in RESTful APIs and data formats (XML, JSON).
• Knowledge of security (OAuth 2.0, TLS) and vulnerability assessments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Octopus); Kubernetes is a plus; distributed deployments.
• Strong system architecture, non-functional requirements gathering, and observability (Grafana/Prometheus).

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Be instrumental in preparing our order management system (IBM OTMS) for integration with the future core banking system
• Lead the process of integrating our system with secondary market trading operations
• Offer technical guidance to DevOps team members during implementation phases
• Within a highly collaborative environment, contribute to the development of the Software Solutions strategy for the Order Management division of Julius Baer
• Assist in the ongoing technical maintenance of our system and proactively identify areas for enhancement

YOUR PROFILE

• Understanding in order management systems with capabilities like IBM OTMS, including order routing and capture
• Strong experience in Oracle PL/SQL 19+ development and performance tuning
• Skilled in Linux environments and Bash scripting for automation and operations
• Expertise in Java, .NET, or equivalent software development technologies (you’re not going to develop on them but is crucial to understand application context done in these languages)
• Solid understanding of messaging protocols including specially Kafka, IBM MQ, and event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with financial messaging standards such as FIX and ISO20022 (e.g., PAIN)
• Proficient in RESTful Web APIs and data formats including XML and JSON
• Knowledge of security mechanisms such as OAuth 2.air, TLS, and vulnerability assessments
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Octopus), Kubernetes is a plus, and distributed system deployments
• Skilled in system architecture, non-functional requirement gathering, design documentation, and observability using Grafana and Prometheus;

YOUR PROFILE

• Knowledge of securities trading and associated processes, particularly within primary and secondary markets, covering all asset classes (equities, fixed income, new issues, funds, alternative investments, structured products, ETDs, ETFs)
• Comprehensive understanding of financial instruments.
• Some practical experience utilising Bloomberg data (masterdata and pricing)
• Strong grasp of money market transactions and payment processing procedures
• Foundational understanding of agile project methodologies, such as SAFe or Scrum
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple teams
• Fluency in English
