Descripción del empleo

At El Fuerte Marbella 5*, part of Fuerte Group Hotels, historic Mediterranean charm meets modern luxury. Originally opened in 1957 as our flagship property, this landmark resort re-emerged in 2023 as a fully transformed 5-star destination. Located directly on the beachfront along Marbella’s scenic promenade and just a five-minute walk from Plaza de los Naranjos, El Fuerte Marbella features 266 luxury rooms, casual luxury design, and sweeping views. To drive executive hotel operations and service excellence across all divisions, we are seeking an experienced, visionary Assistant General Manager / Hotel Deputy Director (Subdirector/a) in Marbella, Spain.

In this senior operational leadership role, you will work closely with the General Manager to steer the property toward financial, guest satisfaction, and brand prestige goals. Specifically, you will oversee budget variances, lead luxury audit readiness, manage high-profile guest resolutions, and step in for the General Manager during their absence.

Job Description: Assistant General Manager / Hotel Deputy Director (El Fuerte Marbella 5)*
Your Mission: Operational Excellence & Executive Leadership

Your primary goal involves driving day-to-day operational success and profitability across our 5-star resort. To achieve this, you will collaborate with department heads to optimize service workflows and revenue targets. At the same time, you will keep luxury quality standards consistent across all guest touchpoints. Therefore, you will monitor budget variances, resolve sensitive VIP issues, supervise facility staging, and assume full property management in the General Manager’s absence. As a result, you will eliminate operational bottlenecks and protect our resort’s reputation for 5-star luxury hospitality.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Executive Coverage & Strategic Alignment: Assume the full functions and responsibilities of the General Manager during their absence. Furthermore, collaborate with Executive Management to align annual goals, guest satisfaction indices, and department budgets.
  • Financial Oversight & Cost Control: Supervise economic performance across assigned budget lines (personnel, raw materials, energy, maintenance, operations). In addition, propose corrective actions to minimize deviations and assist the GM with ownership CAPEX management.
  • Pricing & Discount Authority: Support the design of hotel pricing policies across services. Moreover, approve or apply discretionary discounts within regulatory frameworks in the General Manager’s absence.
  • VIP Care & Escalated Complaint Resolution: Personally greet and oversee high-profile VIP guests. Additionally, manage and resolve sensitive guest complaints—whether in person, on social media, or via online booking portals—to safeguard online reputation.
  • Quality Audits & Operational Staging: Facilitate internal and external operational audits and implement resulting action plans. Consequently, oversee property maintenance and verify adherence to the resort’s operational setting manual.
  • Leadership, Communication & Talent Development: Supervise daily departmental mini-briefings across teams to communicate goals and critical procedures. In addition, collaborate with Human Resources on staff training, performance reviews, and onboarding programs.
Who You Are: The Visionary Hospitality Leader
  • Proven Foundations: You bring at least 4 years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or Operations Director inside 5-star luxury hotels. Experience within Leading Hotels of the World or Preferred Hotels & Resorts properties is highly valued.
  • Educational Background: You hold a University Degree in Tourism, Business Administration (ADE), Economics, or equivalent. Postgraduate studies from prestigious international hospitality management schools are considered a strong plus.
  • The Linguist: You display C1-level proficiency in English alongside fluent Spanish. Knowledge of additional international languages is considered a valuable asset.
  • Technical Proficiency: You feel comfortable navigating hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Key Competencies: You demonstrate executive decision-making, financial analytical skills, crisis composure, emotional intelligence, and natural high-end hospitality presence.
What Fuerte Group Hotels Offers You
  • Competitive Package: Enjoy a competitive executive compensation package comprising a fixed base salary plus performance variables (salario fijo + variable).
  • Seven Decades of Heritage: Form part of Fuerte Group Hotels. Indeed, you will join a respected group with nearly 70 years of industry leadership.
  • Professional Growth: Access continuous corporate training programs and structured internal executive career progression.
  • Exceptional Work Climate: Work alongside top-tier hospitality professionals in an inspiring beachfront 5-star environment.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED?

If you have the executive leadership to drive hotel profitability and the operational grit to elevate 5-star guest journeys, we want to hear from you. Therefore, if you are ready to help lead El Fuerte Marbella to new heights, we invite you to step forward.
