Reardon Yacht Consulting seeks a hands-on Temporary Engineer for a 33m private sailing yacht during the winter yard period. Start date is 12 November 2026 with a potential two-month duration, possibly extending to two months as Second Engineer.

You will coordinate contractors, remove equipment for servicing, begin winterisation and maintain thorough records while working under the chief engineer’s direction.

Formación

• Relevant yacht engineering experience, particularly during refits and yard periods.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks during initial cover.
• Strong practical troubleshooting and organisational skills.
• Willingness to transition into a supporting role.

TEMPORARY ENGINEER — 33M PRIVATE SAILING YACHT

Winter Yard Period

Start date: 12th November 2026

Duration: Potentially two months, with a minimum requirement of two weeks

We are seeking a hands-on, organised Engineer with strong shipyard experience to support the yacht’s winter maintenance period.

The successful candidate must be confident managing engineering works independently during the first two weeks, while the yacht’s current Engineer is away. Should the assignment extend to two months, they will then remain onboard as Second Engineer, working under the engineer following his return.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating contractors and organising engineering works.
• Removing equipment for servicing and repair.
• Beginning winterisation.
• Tracking maintenance progress and maintaining clear records.
• Supporting general engineering, repairs and yard preparation.
• Providing a thorough handover and continuing maintenance work under the engineer direction.

Requirements:

• Relevant yacht engineering experience, particularly during refits and yard periods.
