Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Station Control engineer to develop and implement control philosophies for substations and HV/MV networks, focusing on protection and SCADA system design. You will contribute across project phases from concept studies to commissioning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires experience with SCADA/IEC 61850-based automation, protection settings, and engineering specifications for substations, with opportunities for professional growth in Ramboll Energy.

Qualifications

• Engineering specifications for plant and station control systems for substations (30–400 kV) with closed-loop control.
• Experience in SCADA, SRO, and IEC 61850-based substations automation.
• Development of protection philosophies and protection coordination studies for AC/DC systems.
• Design/configuration/maintenance of station architectures including RTUs/PLCs and protection relays.
• Experience with SCADA/ICS/DCS standards such as IEC 62443, ISO/IEC 27001, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104.
• Modeling/simulation using PSCAD, PSSE, DIgSILENT PowerFactory and MATLAB/Simulink for protection/control design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement control philosophies for substations and HV/MV networks.
• Specify/design/apply control and protection solutions for national/international projects.
• Design SCADA systems including hardware, protocols, and interfaces.
• Develop open/closed loop control strategies and protection schemes.
• Perform FAT/SAT and on-site commissioning; support project phases from concept to testing.
