Job summary

Terma invites you to design and implement secure, scalable software for distributed systems within a federated digital backbone. You will develop APIs, data flows, and interoperable services across domains, applying security-minded engineering and cloud-native practices.

Qualifications

• PhD or Postdoctoral experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Distributed Systems, AI/ML, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, system design, and abstraction.
• Demonstrated ability to reason about complex systems and technical trade-offs.
• Experience working in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.

Responsibilities

• Distributed Systems & Architecture: Design and implement components of a federated platform with strong requirements for scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
• Integration & Interoperability: Develop services, APIs, and data flows connecting heterogeneous systems across organizational and technical boundaries.
• Security Engineering: Contribute to secure system design, including multi-level security considerations, access control, and secure data exchange.
• Automation & Platform Engineering: Build and maintain infrastructure, pipelines, and tooling to support deployment, orchestration, and lifecycle management.
• AI & Intelligent Interfaces: Support development of AI-driven content generation and dialogue systems, enabling intuitive interaction with complex system capabilities.
• Collaboration & Technical Contribution: Participate in design discussions, architecture reviews, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
