Job summary

Market Pay Online is seeking a Boarding Specialist to join our onboarding team in Copenhagen at Gothersgade. You will own the customer journey from initial handover to go-live and beyond, ensuring a smooth setup and ongoing success for merchants.

You will coordinate with customers, acquiring partners and Market Pay colleagues to keep projects moving, explain complex payments processes clearly, and maintain strong relationships across the lifecycle.

The Role

Context

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Boarding Specialist to join our onboarding team, working from our office on Gothersgade in Copenhagen

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Boarding Specialist, you will own the customer journey from the moment Sales hands over a new customer and continue supporting them beyond go-live — ensuring their setup runs smoothly, evolves with their needs, and that they feel confident throughout their time with Market Pay Online.

Reporting to the Onboarding Leads, you'll be the coordinator and driving force throughout the process, working closely with the customer, our acquiring partners and colleagues across Market Pay Online.

That Means

• Setting up and managing acquiring applications, while also handling ongoing merchant maintenance and keeping oversight of periodic KYC reviews to ensure compliance throughout the customer’s lifecycle.
• Guiding customers through requirements and helping them reach a solid setup and continuing to support them throughout their time with Market Pay Online, building strong, trusting relationships.
• Explaining complex processes, technical requirements and compliance needs clearly and simply, and translating “payments” into language customers can actually understand.
• Coordinating closely with internal teams and managing external stakeholders and partners, keeping everyone aligned and making sure nothing falls between two chairs.
• Keeping the whole process moving; managing deadlines, priorities and dependencies, even when systems misbehave, partners introduce new requirements, or customers need extra reassurance.
• Being the calm, trusted point of contact who makes both onboarding and ongoing merchant life feel easy.

Success in the role means that customers know exactly where they stand, colleagues know what they need to do, and new merchants get through the boarding process efficiently and without unnecessary friction.

This is a customer-facing role, so you genuinely enjoy working with people. You are approachable, service-minded and good at building trust, while also being comfortable taking the lead and pushing things forward when needed. You are thorough and detail-oriented. You thrive in creating your own structure in day-to-day processes. Our onboarding flows evolve constantly, and you are comfortable working in an environment where priorities shift, requirements change and not everything is neatly defined. You can keep your overview even when several cases move at once, and you are able to create clarity for others - customers, colleagues and partners - even when things feel chaotic. You thrive when challenges arise and are quick to identify new approaches, alternative paths or creative solutions that move the project forward. And because you will work with both Danish and international customers, you need to be fluent and comfortable in English and Danish, both written and spoken.

Ideally, You

• May have experience from a similar role, e.g., sales support, project coordination, customer onboarding, payments or something similar
• Are comfortable working with financial concepts and have a commercially minded approach
• Are thorough, structured and detail-oriented
• Take responsibility and follow things through
• Are curious and not afraid to ask questions, challenge assumptions or own your mistakes
• Are fluent and comfortable in both English and Danish, written and spoken
• Are comfortable reaching out proactively. Whether that means picking up the phone or joining meetings with both smaller and larger merchants.
