Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding (Denmark) seeks an experienced Ocean Freight Operations Head to drive Danish ocean freight performance, develop processes and lead a team across Denmark. You will work with regional and global peers to translate strategy into actionable improvements and ensure delivery excellence.

You will lead change initiatives, manage performance via KPIs, and develop colleagues while coordinating with carriers and IT to standardize and automate operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant professional experience in freight forwarding/ocean freight operations.
• Strong understanding of operational processes and KPI-based performance management.
• Experience with process improvement, project management or operational transformation.
• Experience leading people or cross-functional initiatives.
• Familiar with operational systems; CargoWise experience is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; English and Danish communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive implementation and adoption of global ocean freight processes and standards in Denmark.
• Develop and execute operational improvement initiatives focusing on productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor performance using KPIs and customer feedback to identify opportunities.
• Lead change management and support adoption of new processes and systems.
• Collaborate with Global Shared Services, regional teams and local IT to standardize and automate.
• Coach and develop employees and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work with internal stakeholders, carriers and service providers to improve performance.
