Job summary

SUNOTEC is seeking a SCADA Engineer to support utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System projects in the Nordic region. The role focuses on delivering robust SCADA architectures, integration across plant components, and ensuring reliable data acquisition and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with engineering, grid compliance, commissioning and operations teams to configure, test, and troubleshoot SCADA solutions, while aligning with cybersecurity

Qualifications

• Hands-on SCADA experience within renewable energy projects.
• Understand industrial control systems, data acquisition, plant monitoring and the communication architecture.
• Experience across the SCADA lifecycle: system architecture, integration, configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Troubleshooting communication and control issues in live project environments.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, particularly Modbus TCP/IP and Modbus RTU.
• Experience with plant control systems, grid interfaces and utility-scale renewable energy assets.
• Ability to work across engineering, commissioning, grid and operations teams.
• Comfortable working in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement SCADA architectures for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Own SCADA integration across plant components and communication networks.
• Configure and validate industrial communication architectures.
• Lead SCADA-related testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Support integration with grid operators and external stakeholders.
• Ensure reliable data acquisition, monitoring and reporting across phases.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation for handover.
• Investigate system performance issues and root-cause analysis.
