Job description

About Planetary Impact Ventures

Planetary Impact Ventures is an investment organization headquartered at an organic farm in Humlebæk, Denmark, that specializes in impact investing with a focus on systemic change in the food and agriculture sectors. The organization manages two investment funds: Planetary Impact Ventures and Planetary Soil Fund, through which it deploys capital toward companies and farmland aligned with regenerative and sustainable principles. The company’s investment philosophy centers on supporting long-term business models that operate within planetary boundaries while simultaneously working to regenerate degraded farmland through partnerships committed to soil restoration. Planetary operates with an evergreen fund structure, reflecting its commitment to patient capital and long-term value creation rather than short-term profit maximization. Beyond traditional investment activities, Planetary adopts a comprehensive theory of change that extends beyond portfolio companies to encompass broader community engagement and systemic transformation. The organization believes that value alignment between investors, intermediaries, and portfolio companies is essential to mission success. Planetary’s guiding principles—stay humble, learn with nature, perceive wealth holistically, trust patient capital, build strong communities, and advocate for change—inform all aspects of its operations and decision-making. The organization is dedicated to inspiring and contributing to a restructuring of economic systems, redefining what constitutes value, and increasing understanding and reconnection with nature and life on the planet. Through its work, Planetary aims to provide fair financial returns while fundamentally contributing to the transition toward organic-regenerative food and agriculture systems.

About this Role

Planetary is seeking an experienced Managing Director (Fondsdirektør) to lead Planetary A/S and oversee the continued development of its two investment funds: Planetary Impact Ventures and Planetary Soil Fund. This is a pivotal leadership role that combines strategic oversight, operational management, and deep commitment to systemic change within the food and agriculture sectors. As Managing Director, you will serve as the chief executive responsible for all aspects of organizational performance, governance, and mission alignment. Your work will be grounded in a profound commitment to systems change and the transition toward organic-regenerative food and agriculture. You will report directly to the Board of Directors and work in close collaboration with all team members, ensuring that Planetary’s impact objectives are seamlessly integrated into investment strategy, portfolio management, and decision-making across both funds. The role requires balancing multiple leadership dimensions: organizational development, fund management, stakeholder relationships, and portfolio company support. You will be expected to lead by example, embodying Planetary’s values of intellectual curiosity, courage, humility, collaboration, care for people and planet, sound commercial judgment, and high standards. Your leadership will shape organizational culture while driving both financial performance and impact outcomes.

  • Support the investment teams, ensuring sound investment practices, high-quality investment decisions, and effective collaboration with Investment Committees and the Board
