Impact Fund Denmark, based in Copenhagen, seeks a Managing Director to lead a new investment platform, build the team and drive venture activities. You will directly invest, shape processes, and guide opportunities through governance with senior collaboration.
You will report to the Chief Investment Officer and form a credible pipeline, articulating commercial and impact reasoning to advance investments while engaging with Danish businesses and partners.
Impact Fund Denmark is developing new ways to invest in businesses with links to Denmark and activities in developing and emerging markets. We are looking for a Managing Director who can turn these mandates into a functioning investment platform, build the team behind it and lead the continued development of our venture activities.
The role combines direct investment responsibility with business development and team leadership. You will need to make sound decisions in an area where the operating model is still being built.
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, you will set the direction for the new team and work closely with colleagues across our existing venture and investment activities. You will build a credible pipeline and ensure that opportunities move through IFDK’s investment decision process with appropriate rigour.
This is what we need to see:
These are advantages, not requirements: experience with venture or early-stage investing, venture building, technical assistance, development finance or investments in developing and emerging markets. Danish language skills would also be an advantage.
We do not expect one person to have worked in every part of this landscape. We do expect evidence of investment judgement, leadership and the ability to build something that works.
You will be based in Copenhagen and report to the Chief Investment Officer. The role works across the new instruments and existing venture activities, in close collaboration with other investment teams and specialist functions.
You will have the opportunity to shape a new investment platform within an established organisation. The work calls for commercial discipline and offers the chance to support businesses whose growth can create measurable impact.
Please apply through IFDK’s recruitment platform with your CV and a short application. Tell us about an investment you helped bring to a decision, what you personally contributed, and why this mandate interests you.
