Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Research Tech Delivery team in AI & Digital Innovation, R&D. You will drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure software solutions, from early proofs of concept to enterprise-grade production systems.

You will collaborate with researchers, product managers, data engineers, and software engineers in a highly collaborative, international environment to deliver platform-focused innovations and data integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with technical leadership.
• Strong experience designing end-to-end architectures across applications, integration, data, search, and cloud layers.
• Backend development with Python, API design, distributed systems, and SOA.
• Experience with integration patterns, event-driven architectures, and data-intensive systems.
• Practical experience with Kafka, Kafka plugins, or managed Kafka services (e.g., Amazon MSK).
• Strong AWS and cloud-native skills including containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, IAM, monitoring, and security.

• Leading the technical direction of end-to-end digital products.
• Designing and developing applications with modern technologies and existing solutions.
• Defining architecture across applications, integration, data, search, and cloud layers.
• Establishing observability, security, quality, and engineering practices.

• Working on improvements and extensions to the existing digital product, including new data sources.
• Delivering platform-focused proofs of concept and infrastructure solutions such as Kafka plugins and AWS MSK.
