Job summary

Trackunit’s IoT Division seeks a senior expert in IoT certifications, standards, and licensing to own the SEP strategy across a multi-region device portfolio. You will collaborate with legal, product, engineering, and suppliers to shape licensing, approvals, and governance.

With 10+ years in mobile, IoT, or telecom hardware, you’ll translate complex regulatory concepts into clear guidance for customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of cellular connectivity (LTE-M, NB-IoT, LTE Cat-1/1bis, 5G) and the module landscape.
• Experience with licensing, SEP, FRAND, and patent pools in mobile/IoT devices.
• Hands-on experience with global type approvals and regulatory certification (RED/CE, FCC, regional approvals).

Responsibilities

• Own SEP position across the device portfolio and track patent pools and licensing programmes.
• Run supplier licensing due diligence with module suppliers and ensure disclosure of gaps.
• Support licensing negotiations with GC, external patent counsel, and economists on royalty and valuation.
• Own global type approvals and certification (RED/CE, FCC, ISED, UKCA, etc.).
• Draft internal playbooks and explanations to communicate licensing matters clearly.
