Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Proposal Leader to own the full lifecycle of high-stakes bids for Pyro and Grinding technologies. You will drive strategy, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure proposals meet technical, commercial, and contractual standards.

With 10+ years in proposals within engineered equipment environments, you will optimize win rates, negotiate with customers, and mentor a growing team while aligning with international contracting norms and financing considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in proposals, bid management, sales, commercial operations, project management, or a related function within an engineered equipment, industrial technology, EPC, or similar environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing complex proposals for engineered equipment, systems, or integrated solutions.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams through the proposal development process.
• Strong understanding of proposal development, cost estimation, pricing, commercial terms, and contractual risk.
• Experience working with international customers and regional sales organizations.
• Familiarity with international contracting, export financing, ECAs, bank guarantees, and performance/warranty requirements preferred.
• Strong understanding of pyro-processing and/or grinding technologies highly preferred.
• Strong commercial judgment and understanding of proposal strategy, pricing, margin, and risk.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex proposals and competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global proposal function for Pyro & Grinding and drive end-to-end lifecycle ownership from qualification through handover to project execution.
• Deliver high-quality, competitive, and commercially sound proposals for complex equipment, systems, and integrated solutions.
• Partner with Sales, Product Line Management, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Project Management, and regional teams.
• Manage the proposal pipeline and prioritize resources based on business needs, opportunity complexity, and deadlines.
• Lead bid/no-bid processes and guide bid strategy, customer requirements, solution positioning, and competitive considerations.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams addressing technical, commercial, financial, contractual, and project execution requirements.
• Establish proposal schedules, responsibilities, review milestones, and submission requirements.
• Review proposals for accuracy, completeness, competitiveness, and alignment with company requirements.
• Support Sales during customer clarifications, negotiations, and proposal revisions.
• Identify and manage commercial, financial, and contractual risks; support pricing strategy and review costs, margins, contingencies, and payment terms.
• Support international contracting, export financing, ECAs, bank guarantees where applicable.
• Ensure proposal commitments, assumptions, and exclusions are documented and handed over to project execution.
• Develop proposal tools, templates, content libraries, and governance processes.
• Monitor win rates, cycle times, quality, and resource utilization to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead, coach, and develop the proposal team.
