Job summary

Flexport is hiring a Global Operations Associate for Ocean Freight in Denmark/Sweden. You will own end-to-end ocean shipments, coordinate bookings, documentation and follow-up, while delivering a superior client experience using Flexport’s AI-powered tools.

You will work with Danish or Swedish and English, maintain strong processes, and help improve operational efficiency in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Completed professional training as a forwarding agent or a relevant BA/BS with logistics experience.
• 2+ years in freight forwarding, logistics or operations, preferably ocean freight.
• Fluent in Danish or Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
• Comfortable with technology, automation and AI-powered solutions.
• Effective time management and prioritization of many tasks.
• Ability to receive and implement feedback.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Teamwork and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Bookings, documentation, shipment follow-up, and exception management.

• Deliver first-class client experience through proactive communication and resolution.
• Follow SOPs and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.

Global Operations Associate - Ocean Freight

Your responsibilities as a Global Operations Associate:

• Own the end-to-end movement of ocean freight (FCL and LCL) shipments into and out of Denmark and Sweden, with potential scope covering the UK. This includes bookings, documentation, shipment follow-up, exception management and coordination with customers, carriers and logistics partners - owning the full operational execution and customer experience.
• Deliver a first-class client experience through proactive communication, problem-solving and timely resolution of operational challenges.
• Leverage Flexport’s technology, automation and AI-powered tools to manage shipments, identify exceptions, make informed operational decisions and continuously improve how we move freight.
• Be responsible for ensuring your work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery, independently managing your priorities and commitments.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
• Act in the best interest of the company by avoiding leakages and ensuring cost-conscious behavior.
• Support shipments managed by partners as we drive partner autonomy and parity with insourced operations, where applicable.

Requirements:

• Completed professional training as a forwarding agent (speditør) is preferred. Alternatively, a relevant BA/BS degree combined with relevant work experience in freight forwarding, logistics or operations.
• 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics or operations, ideally with hands-on experience in ocean freight.
• Fluent in Danish or Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
• Comfortable working with technology and eager to adopt new tools, automation and AI-powered solutions. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective time management. Be able to properly prioritize and manage a large volume of tasks.
• Ability to effectively seek and receive feedback.
• Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
• Teamwork and relationship building.
• Orientation towards working smarter and adopting best practices and standardization.
• Problem-solving capabilities.
• A “compliance-first” attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.
