Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to perform on-site installation, alignment, and repair of sophisticated analytical instruments across the Nordics. You will validate system performance, advise customers on operation and maintenance, and act as a liaison for technical matters on assigned projects.

The role requires hands-on experience with SEM/TEM/FIB systems, high voltage and ultra-high vacuum knowledge, and frequent travel (up to 50–75%).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or related field.
  • Hands-on experience installing/troubleshooting/repairing analytical instruments such as SEM/TEM/FIB.
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • On-site installation and alignment of electron microscopes and related systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance visits and calibration tasks.
  • Provide training and support to customers and field personnel.
  • Prepare field service reports and document system changes.
