Job description

Business Development Manager – Advanced Materials & Semiconductor Ecosystems
Location: Copenhagen / Europe / Remote-Hybrid

Travel: Approximately 30–40% globally

Company: ATLANT 3D

Role type: Full-time, individual contributor

About ATLANT 3D
ATLANT 3D is building the next generation of atomic-scale manufacturing technology. Our proprietary Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®) and NANOFABRICATOR® platform enable innovators to discover, prototype, and industrialize advanced materials and devices faster, more locally, and with significantly reduced process complexity.

We operate across multiple high-value industries, including AI-driven materials discovery, semiconductors, advanced packaging, photonics, MEMS, energy, quantum technologies, and advanced materials R&D. Customers engage with us through paid proofs of concept and pilots, joint development programs, and NANOFABRICATOR® system deployments.

Your role

You will identify and develop new business opportunities where ATLANT 3D can solve important materials, rapid prototyping and manufacturing challenges.

Your initial focus will be corporate materials R&D, semiconductor and advanced-packaging innovators, and selected research organizations across Europe and strategic global markets.

This is a hands‑on business-development role. You will open strategic accounts, uncover valuable applications and shape technically credible customer programs. You will lead opportunities through qualification and into funded feasibility studies, joint-development programs or other strategic engagements.

When an opportunity progresses toward an equipment purchase, ATLANT 3D’s commercial leadership will own the formal quotation, contract negotiation and final order closure. You will remain responsible for the strategic relationship and opportunity momentum.

What you will own

  • Identify priority markets, applications and accounts where ATLANT 3D can create distinctive value.
  • Build relationships with scientists, process engineers, innovation leaders and executive sponsors.
  • Translate customer roadmaps and technical bottlenecks into credible use cases and business opportunities.
  • Qualify opportunities based on technical fit, strategic value, customer sponsorship, funding and timing.
  • Shape paid feasibility studies and joint-development programs, including objectives, success criteria and the route to broader adoption.
  • Coordinate technical scoping and validation with our applications scientists, engineers and product team.
  • Develop business cases and recommend the right customer, partnership or market‑entry model.
  • Co‑develop commercial frameworks and proposals with ATLANT 3D’s commercial leadership.
  • Transition equipment‑ready opportunities into the formal sales process while remaining the strategic relationship owner.
  • Develop selected technology, research, consortium and channel partnerships.
  • Bring structured market evidence into product, application and go‑to‑market decisions.

What success looks like

During your first year, you will have:

  • Established a clear account and market‑development strategy.
  • Built a focused portfolio of technically and commercially qualified opportunities.
  • Secured several funded feasibility studies or joint‑development programs.
  • Created credible paths from customer validation to equipment opportunities.
  • Developed strategic partnerships that expand ATLANT 3D’s market access.
  • Given product and engineering teams an evidence‑based view of customer priorities and adoption barriers.

What you bring

  • At least six years of business development, strategic‑account development or partnership experience in complex B2B hardware, scientific equipment, semiconductor technology, advanced manufacturing or a closely related field.
  • Evidence that you personally originated and developed technically complex opportunities or commercial collaborations.
  • The ability to engage credibly with scientists and process engineers while building executive‑level support.
  • Experience with customer discovery, opportunity qualification, business‑case development and funded technical programs.
  • Strong stakeholder‑management skills across customers, partners and multidisciplinary internal teams.
  • A degree in materials science, chemistry, physics, engineering or a related discipline—or equivalent technical industry experience.
  • Disciplined account planning, CRM management and opportunity tracking.
  • Professional fluency in English and willingness to travel approximately 30–40%.

Useful, but not essential

  • Experience with thin films, ALD, CVD, PVD, microfabrication, nanofabrication or semiconductor process equipment.
  • A network across corporate materials R&D, semiconductor innovation, national laboratories or advanced research institutes.
  • Experience developing joint‑development agreements or progressing technical programs toward capital‑equipment opportunities.
  • Familiarity with AI for Science, materials informatics or automated laboratory workflows.
  • Startup, new‑category, consortium or channel‑development experience.
  • An additional European or Asian language.

Why ATLANT 3D

  • Help create a new category in atomic‑scale manufacturing.
  • Work directly with an international team of materials scientists, engineers and commercial builders.
  • Bring customers into our Copenhagen A‑HUB for practical development and validation.
  • Influence market direction, partnership models and product priorities through direct customer evidence.
  • Build strategic business across hardware, software, process expertise and innovation services.
  • Receive meaningful ownership, performance‑linked upside and the opportunity to share in the value you help create.

Build the future of materials innovation. Atom by atom.
