The Clinic for Internal Medicine II, Gastroenterology at the University Hospital Würzburg is seeking a Bioinformatician/Software Engineer (m/f/d) as a PhD candidate or postdoc starting June 1, 2025. This position is initially temporary, with a high likelihood of extension based on performance and project needs.
The Gustabor project focuses on the development of an AI-based platform that suggests individualised measures for taste disorders during tumour therapy. This project will create personalised AI-driven nutrition plans and evaluate specific interventions for chemotherapy-induced dysgeusia in clinical practice.

Our research focuses on improving digestive health for patients suffering from cancer or precancerous lesions. By leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies, we aim to enhance patient care and quality of life. The Interventional and Experimental Endoscopy group (InExEn, www.ukw.de/inexen) is an interdisciplinary and international team of clinicians, software engineers, nutrition experts, and engineers, with extensive experience in developing AI systems and translating them directly into clinical practice.
