At the Fraunhofer IPT in Aachen, we work with more than 530 employees every day to make the production of the future more digital, more flexible and more sustainable. In the department , we deal with the replicative manufacturing of glass components.
High-precision components are used more and more frequently, for example in the manufacture of optics, laser system components, medical technology, and tool manufacturing. Among others, precision glass molding (PGM) is a replicative production process which is often suitable for the manufacture of optical components. The process must be monitored via sensors installed on the machine and a web-based app that allows visualization of the parameters during the process.
