Job summary

Thales in Germany seeks a motivated Werkstudent in Radar Systems Engineering (Domain Surface Radar) at the Thales site in Ditzingen. You will develop radar data management solutions for ML and testing, and build data pipelines in Python with signal processing steps.

You will implement data transformation, anomaly detection, and contribute to AI training pipelines. You’ll work independently on a subproject with mentorship from an experienced team.

Qualifications

• Student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a comparable field.
• Basic programming experience in Python; familiarity with SQL, Git, CI/CD and containerization tools is advantageous.
• Practical experience in working with data (e.g. in machine learning or visualization tasks).

Responsibilities

• Develop radar data management solutions for machine learning and testing use cases.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines in Python, including integration of signal processing steps.
• Implement data transformation and quality assessment processes, e.g. anomaly detection using machine learning.
• Develop new data pipelines for AI training, with opportunities to work on data collection and visualization.
• Work independently on a defined subproject with mentoring from a technical engineering team.
