Job summary

OMMAX seeks a senior professional to lead Technology and AI Due Diligence for private equity engagements. You will assess business models, technology landscapes, cloud and data architectures, and governance to inform deal decisions.

With 8+ years in related roles, you will manage client interactions, run workshops, and deliver actionable roadmaps while collaborating with executives across industries. Hybrid work in Munich offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Technology Due Diligence, technology consulting, digital transformation or related field.
• Hands-on experience conducting/leading Technology Due Diligence on buy-side and sell-side, plus AI Due Diligence.
• Experience with private equity investors, investment teams, CEOs/CFOs/CTOs/CMOs.
• Ability to connect business models and value drivers to technology implications.

Responsibilities

• Own buy-side and sell-side Technology and AI Due Diligence workstreams from scoping to readout.
• Evaluate architecture, cloud, data, cybersecurity, and operations for scalability and defensibility.
• Lead interviews, workshops and expert discussions; coordinate cross-team specialists.

Job description

• You take ownership of buy-side and sell-side Technology Due Diligence and AI Due Diligence workstreams, from scoping through final readout, for private equity investors, portfolio companies and management teams.
• You assess business models, market positions, operating models and technology landscapes, testing management claims against evidence, metrics, costs and technical documentation.
• You evaluate architecture, cloud, infrastructure, applications, data, integrations, software delivery, cybersecurity, resilience and technology operations for scalability, defensibility and performance.
• You assess AI maturity, use cases, data and model foundations, AI engineering, governance, agentic AI potential and the credibility of claimed differentiation.
• You identify deal-relevant risks, technical debt, remediation needs, investment implications and technology value creation opportunities; you translate them into clear recommendations and post-transaction roadmaps.
• You lead management interviews, expert discussions, workshops and technical deep dives, and coordinate specialists across technology, AI, data, operations, cybersecurity and commercial topics.
• You present concise, evidence-based conclusions to investment committees, investors, CEOs and senior management, building trusted relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You lead and coach project teams, deliver high-quality outputs under tight transaction timelines, and contribute to pitches, business development, due diligence methodologies and OMMAX intellectual property.

What we require:

• You bring 8+ years of experience in Technology Due Diligence, technology consulting, digital transformation, technology leadership, private equity value creation or a comparable field.
• You have substantial hands-on experience conducting and/or leading Technology Due Diligence on buy-side and sell-side transactions, as well as AI Due Diligence covering strategy, use cases, data foundations, engineering, governance and value potential.
• You have worked directly with private equity investors, investment teams, operating partners, CEOs, CFOs, CIOs and CTOs.
• You bring broad business and technology experience and can connect business models, value drivers and operating models with technology implications.
• You understand technology strategy, enterprise architecture, cloud, applications, data, cybersecurity, software delivery and emerging technologies; familiarity with agentic AI, orchestration, governance, security and access control is expected.
• You can distinguish genuine technology or AI differentiation from standard vendor capabilities and unsubstantiated claims, and turn complex evidence into credible, pragmatic recommendations.
• You have experience across several industries and/or business models and can quickly adapt to different companies and transaction contexts.
• You bring excellent conceptual, analytical and investigative skills, sound judgement under time pressure, and confidence in ambiguous situations.
• You communicate and present complex technology and AI topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders. English proficiency is mandatory; German at C1 level is advantageous.
• You are willing to travel in line with client and transaction requirements.
