Job summary

Blackwave GmbH seeks a hands-on Materials Tester to join our on-site lab in Bavaria. You will prepare, execute, and document tests, working with real spaceflight hardware and ensuring readiness of testing areas. You will learn new testing methods and collaborate across the team to maintain reliable verification processes.

The role requires vocational training in materials testing, a willingness to learn, and German/English at B2 level, with on-site work in Taufkirchen anticipated.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as a Materials Tester or comparable technical training.
• Strong willingness to learn and genuine interest in testing technologies and materials.
• Motivated, reliable, hands-on working style with a strong drive to get the job done right.
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support colleagues when needed.
• German and English at B2 level minimum, with at least one language used daily.
• Willingness to work fully on-site in Taufkirchen and readiness for shift work in future.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tests, help execute them, and document results.

• Identify abnormalities early and report them to keep the test bench efficient.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

THE WHAT You prepare tests, help execute them, and document the results. You work in the lab and at the test bench — hands‑on, as part of a team, and every day with real spaceflight hardware.

THE WHY We build pressure vessels and carbon fiber structures for spaceflight. Before our hardware flies, it gets tested — and you keep the testing running. Without you, the test bench stands still.

YOUR IMPACT

You don't just support testing. You make sure product verification happens reliably every day.

You ensure:

• testing areas are ready whenever the team needs them
• tests are executed reliably and documented completely
• abnormalities are identified and reported early
• the testing team can operate efficiently
• new skills and testing capabilities are continuously developed

YOUR PROFILE

Must-Haves

• Completed vocational training as a Materials Tester (plastics, metals, or fiber composites/CFRP) or comparable technical training.
• Strong willingness to learn and genuine interest in testing technologies and materials.
• Motivated, reliable, and hands‑on working style with a strong drive to get the job done right.
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support colleagues when needed.
• German and English at B2 level minimum, with at least one language being confidently used in daily work.
• Willingness to work fully on‑site in Taufkirchen and readiness for future shift work or staggered working hours.

Nice to have

• First experience in a test laboratory, materials testing, or technical testing environment.
• Experience with destructive testing, NDT methods, or acceptance testing.
