Job summary

RIEDEL Communications GmbH & Co. KG invites you to join as a Test & Support Expert (m/f/d) for Broadcast Video.

You will develop, define and execute release test cases for hardware, firmware and software within the MediorNet TDM Video portfolio, driving quality through testing. You will collaborate with System Testing, R&D, Product Management and Support, deliver internal trainings, provide second and third level support, and act as a gatekeeper for escalation across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in broadcast, live event production or television environments.
• Knowledge of SDI and IP video technologies (SMPTE 2110 preferred).
• Familiar with Windows and Linux environments; Jira for issue tracking is a plus.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• You develop, define and execute release test cases for new hardware, firmware and software solutions within our MediorNet TDM Video portfolio and document the results in appropriate tools.
• You perform exploratory and user acceptance testing with a clear "test-to-break" mindset, identify weaknesses and document findings and bugs in Jira to support development teams.
• You collaborate closely with System Testing, R&D, Product Management and Support teams to ensure product quality, support readiness and successful market releases.
• You prepare and deliver internal training sessions and knowledge transfer activities for global support, demo and professional services teams.
• You provide second and third level technical support for internal and external customers and act as an expert for complex troubleshooting scenarios.
• You serve as a gatekeeper between Support, R&D and Product Management, ensuring efficient escalation handling and high-quality communication across teams.
• You continuously learn emerging broadcast technologies and gather customer feedback to contribute to future product improvements.

THAT'S YOU

• Proven experience in broadcast, live event production or television environments with strong knowledge of SDI and IP video technologies, ideally including SMPTE 2110
• Good understanding of IP networking concepts such as VLANs, IGMP, PTP and switch configuration, combined with knowledge of video and audio interfaces
• Experience with Windows and Linux environments; knowledge of virtualization, monitoring tools and cloud video processing is desirable
• Practical experience in hardware and software testing or a strong motivation to work in quality assurance and product validation
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills combined with a structured and quality-focused working style
• Passion for sharing knowledge, conducting trainings and collaborating across international and cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills, willingness to travel occasional and good spoken and written English skills
