Job summary

The Hapimag Resort Westerland is seeking a dedicated Technical Lead (m/f/d) to oversee on-site operations on the North Sea island of Sylt. You will lead a small technical team, perform hands-on maintenance in holiday apartments and public areas, and manage facility systems with external service providers.

Requirements include a trades background and German language proficiency; leadership experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Trades background in a relevant technical field.
• Initial leadership experience is a plus.
• Practical leadership with a hands-on approach.
• Good German for team and guest communication.
• Comfort with standard computer software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the on-site technical team.
• Perform maintenance, repairs and servicing of holiday apartments and public areas.
• Maintain facility management master lists and monitor systems.
• Ensure safe operation of technical building systems and coordinate external providers.
• Provide on-call and emergency repair coverage as part of the rota.

The Hapimag Resort Westerland is centrally located yet close to the beach on the popular North Sea island of Sylt. Featuring comfortable holiday apartments, the resort offers our guests the perfect starting point for a relaxing island holiday.

Our resort is looking for a dedicated individual to join our maintenance team as a Technical Lead (m/f/d) for a varied role.

What you can expect

• Operational and practical leadership of our small, on-site technical team
• "Hands-on" involvement in day-to-day operations: maintenance, repairs, and servicing in the holiday apartments and public areas
• Maintenance, monitoring, and administration of our digital master lists for facility management
• Ensuring the safe operation of all technical building systems and coordinating with external service providers
• Carrying out ad hoc and emergency repairs on call, as well as taking part in the regular on-call rota

What you bring along

• Training in a trade (e.g., building technology, electrical, plumbing/HVAC, or similar)
• Initial leadership experience is a plus, but the role is also suitable for highly motivated candidates stepping up from a second-in-command position (the focus is strongly on practical leadership)
• Strong hands-on mentality and enjoyment of practical workAn independent and goal-oriented approach to work
• Good command of German for communicating within the team and with guests
• Familiarity with using a computer and standard software programmes
