Now Hiring: System Design Engineer (BESS)

Join an international team shaping the future of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across Europe. If you’re passionate about driving early-stage design and turning concepts into safe, scalable, and buildable solutions—this could be your next step.

What you’ll do:

• Lead early-stage technical design for large-scale BESS projects across Europe
• Create and review SLDs, mechanical layouts, and technical documentation
• Translate technical standards into robust, high-quality early design packages
• Coordinate and quality‑assure external engineering partners across countries
• Optimize designs for safety, compliance, cost, and constructability
• Prepare permit‑ready documentation and support grid/authority interactions
• Align scope, risks, and timelines with cross-functional stakeholders
• Identify design risks and define mitigation strategies
• Build and scale a BESS technology hub (tools, templates, lessons learned)
• Support handover into procurement and construction phases
• Travel to project sites across Germany and Europe

What you bring:

• Degree in electrical, mechanical, or energy engineering (or equivalent technical background)
• Strong expertise in BESS technology, especially early‑stage design decisions
• Proven ability to manage and review engineering work in multi‑country setups
• Structured, detail‑oriented, and proactive working style
• Fluent English and at least B2 German
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with permitting/grid application packages
• Knowledge of construction/operation contract frameworks
