Chair of Embedded Software (Computer Science 11)

Our Profile

We are a young startup project funded by the EXIST Research Transfer program. Our mission is to develop an open-source middleware for connecting safety-critical real-time systems, providing an open alternative to proprietary solutions in industries such as automotive and medical technology.

The employment will be with the Chair of Embedded Software (Computer Science 11) at RWTH Aachen University, in the context of the startup formation supported by the EXIST program.

We are looking for motivated and talented software engineers to join our team and help us realize this vision.

Your Profile
  • You are passionate about embedded systems and software engineering.
  • You have experience in C++ and/or Rust or Web Development Technologies
  • You optionally have experience with Linux, networking and embedded systems.
Your Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of our open-source communication stack for safety-critical real-time systems
  • Implement and further develop software components in C++ and/or Rust
  • Support integration and system testing on real platforms
  • Support functional-safety activities toward ISO 26262 certification
What We Offer

The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term up to 18 months.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 9-19 hours.
Flexible working hours are possible.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 14.50 euros per hour.
