Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking a senior backend engineer to build and scale our monitoring and observability platform across desktop apps and browser extensions. You will own data ingestion pipelines, reliability signals, and the end-to-end production stack in AWS, working across Python, TypeScript, and Go.

You will lead cross-team efforts, set architectural standards, and mentor engineers to improve system reliability at scale in a fast-growing startup environment.

Qualifikationen

• Deep experience building backend applications and ownership of complex production systems at staff-level scope.
• Strong Python skills and comfort with TypeScript and Go as needed.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems and large-scale data ingestion pipelines.
• Experience building monitoring and observability systems.
• Experience with message queues and background jobs (Celery, SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Experience deploying and maintaining production services in AWS.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into technical roadmaps and carry work through design to production.

• Build and evolve the monitoring and observability platform for hundreds of thousands of desktop and browser extension installations worldwide
• Define and improve signals measuring recorder reliability, data capture health, and Agentic Workflow Mapping availability
• Own and evolve backend ingestion services connecting data capture to processing and AI pipelines
• Improve background-job reliability and task orchestration
• Design, deploy, and operate production services in AWS
• Use observability to identify failures, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and guide improvements
• Set technical direction and drive the feature, reliability, and observability roadmap for the Workflow Mapping client platform
• Lead cross-team technical work, clarify ownership, unblock engineers, and set standards for scalable architecture and maintainable code

Requirements

• Deep experience building backend applications and a track record of owning complex production systems at Staff-level scope
• Strong Python skills and comfort working across TypeScript and Go as needed
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems and large-scale data ingestion pipelines
• Experience building monitoring and observability systems
• Experience with message queues, background jobs, and task orchestration tools such as Celery, SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining production services in AWS
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into technical roadmaps and carry work from design through production operation
• Hands-on engineering and technical leadership experience
• Experience monitoring the health and reliability of a large fleet of desktop apps, browser extensions, or other distributed clients (nice to have)
• Experience with Django (nice to have)
• Experience working at a startup or in another fast-paced, high-growth environment (nice to have)
