Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Backend Architect to design and evolve a complex event-driven platform. You will own the technical architecture, drive scalable backend services, and define APIs for internal and external integrations in a distributed system environment.

You will collaborate with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust solutions, establishing engineering standards and guiding long-term platform evolution.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years backend development with distributed systems and event-driven architectures in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and designing scalable services and APIs.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and Apache Kafka, including event processing and reliable communication.
• Understanding of API design, system integrations, REST, GraphQL, and workflow/stream processing.
• Ability to drive architectural decisions and set engineering standards across teams.
• Translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions while considering trade-offs.
• Structured, ownership-driven, and quality-focused with strong communication.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and modern backend development, including the design of scalable services, APIs, and distributed applications.
• Experience working with event-driven architectures and technologies such as Apache Kafka, including event processing, schema management, and reliable system communication.
• Solid understanding of API design, system integrations, and modern platform architectures, ideally including REST, GraphQL, workflow orchestration, or stream processing solutions.
• Ability to drive architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, and guide technical direction across teams.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while considering dependencies, trade-offs, and long-term platform evolution.
• Structured, ownership-driven, and quality-focused approach with a strong commitment to technical excellence.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Strong English skills (C1) in both written and spoken communication.
