Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Mainframe Consultant to work on a variety of software projects for enterprise clients in Germany. You will diagnose and optimize COBOL, PL/I, and Java solutions on z/OS, influence automation strategies and deliver customer-facing consulting and presentations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mainframe environments, strong knowledge of IBM zEnterprise offerings, and hands-on experience with CICS, DB2, MQ, and modern DevOps patterns.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive experience with mainframe development environments and DB2/IMS/MQ.
• Proven ability to diagnose Compile/Assembly/LinkEdit for z/OS and fix issues.
• Experience with CICS, z/OS Connect, and z/Linux/Hybrid computing concepts.
• Familiarity with source control like Panvalet/Endevor and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• Experience, understanding and ability to diagnose issues with Compile, Assembly and LinkEdit processes for z/OS
• Experience developing mainframe applications using COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, Java, and EZT for z/OS
• Experience with IBM CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, Liberty and z/OS Connect
• Experience with z/OS source control platforms and processes, such as Panvalet, Endevor, and SCLM
• Knowledge of IBM zEnterprise Hybrid Computing offerings, including zLinux, zCX, Db2 and IDAA
• Knowledge of IBM Dependency Based Build and its components, including Groovy or YAML
• Experience using the z/OS USS environment
• Experience using an IDE for mainframe development, such as IBM IDz, BMC Compuware Topaz, or VSCode
• Experience with Git-based source control platforms
• Experience with IBM UrbanCode Deploy
• Experience with Ansible Automation Platform
• Experience with other open-source tools is a plus
• Knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies and best practices
• BA or BS or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in customer-facing environments
• Good presentation skills
• Current working knowledge of IBM zEnterprise Hybrid Computing offerings, including zLinux, zCX and IDAA
• DB2 DBA support knowledge for software development
• IBM Certified Specialist - IBM zSeries Technical Version 1 and related industry certifications are preferred
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Demonstrates expertise in mainframe application development using COBOL, PL/I, and Java, alongside strong knowledge of IBM zEnterprise Hybrid Computing offerings. Proven ability to lead projects, influence automation strategies, and provide effective customer-facing consulting.
