Zusammenfassung

Purview Infotech is looking for a Z/OS System Programmer to join our remote team for a 12-month contract. You will manage mainframe environments, perform configurations, installations, and maintenance using SMP/E, and execute z/OS upgrades.

You’ll work with ISV installations, IBM Utilities, and z/OSMF workflows, supporting performance, security, storage, and capacity planning while collaborating with cross-functional teams across tracks.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience in z/OS system programming and mainframe environments.
• Experience with SMP/E and ISV product installations.
• Strong knowledge of JCL, IBM Utilities, and IBM z/OS tools.

Aufgaben

• Perform system programming activities: configuration, installation, and maintenance using SMP/E.
• Upgrade z/OS and perform RSU maintenance via z/OSMF Workflow.
• Architect, install, and configure complex z/OS environments with third-party software.
• Support standardization, feature implementation, and performance tuning.

I have urgent requirements for Z/OS System Programmer.

Role: Z/OS System Programmer

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 Months and Contract

++Responsibilities++

• Perform standard system programming activities like configuration, installation & maintenance using SMP/E, and vendor software installations in the mainframe environment. Perform Operating System upgrade and RSU maintenance via z/OSMF Workflow.
• Advanced System Management: Architect, install, and configure highly complex z/OS environments and third-party software.
• Support Software Standardization and new Feature implementations.
• Support other team: storage management, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, networking, and operating procedures from zOS perspective.
• Work with Mainframe System Programmers staff across tracks to enhance the mainframe environment.
• Assist team members to solve problems, make innovative improvements and make decisions.
• Identify and implement system and process improvements in the z/OS environment Work with application support teams and other internal customers to facilitate business initiatives.
• Expertise in performing SMP/E and Non-SMPE Installation of ISV products)
• Expertise in IBM and Broadcom Software product Install and Upgrades
• Mastery of z/OS system commands, utilities, and automation tools.
• Operating system z/OS V2.5 upgrades or later with z/OSMF workflow execution.
• IODF, HCD Skillset to add new devices.
• Sysplex and config management (good to have)
• Fluent in JCL and IBM Utilities (IEBGENER/IEBCOPY/AMASPZAP/DFDSS)
• ISPF/TSO and other basic
• Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST
• Designing project plan(upgrades, maintenance, decom) with task list for all stakeholders and communicating the timelines with delivery and customer.
• Formulate roadmaps with all pre-requisites to achieve a project completion.
