Commenda is automating compliance for multinationals. Our competitors are the Big Four accounting firms, who earn a combined $200b/yr in revenue. Our goal is to make that the Big Five, and then to make it the Big One.

We offer a comprehensive product suite, including:

• Entity Management: Track the compliance status of each entity in your multinational corporate structure.

• Tax & Accounting: Understand your filing obligations and match with accountants who support your requirements.

• Transaction tax: Monitor your global sales to identify VAT, GST, and sales tax reporting requirements. Calculate tax on transactions based on the products being sold, information about your business, and information about your customer. Automatically register when you exceed thresholds and file periodically.

• Transfer pricing: Generate compliant transfer pricing documentation across your global structure and monitor your intercompany transactions for compliance.

• Incorporation & Global Expansion: Set up an entity in a new jurisdiction where you want to hire, sell, or fundraise.

• Research Console: Get reliable information about tax & compliance from an AI research console that's tailor-made for the needs of a compliance professional.

You will work on the core systems that enable our entire product suite. These systems include CommendaOS, our core data model representing a corporate structure along with its governance and business operations, and our tax engine, which scalably applies complex business logic rules to business operations data in order to identify compliance obligations and meet them.

We are asmall, high-commitment team of 10 software engineers. Your work will be essential from day 1, and you'll need to hit the ground running. We work extremely hard. This is not a 9 to 5. Plan accordingly.

Requirements

This is abackend-heavysoftware engineering role. Experience architecting and implementing reliable and scalable backend systems is a must.

We're an in-person team with offices in Bangalore and San Francisco.
