Job summary

Hannover Re in Hannover, Germany, is seeking a Software Engineer Azure Cloud Operations to join an international software team. You will deploy Azure components, review architectures, and work with external partners to ensure security, quality, and reliable operation of production systems.

You come with a degree in IT/Mathematics/Sciences, several years of Azure Cloud experience, and know-how of Terraform and IaC. Fluent German and English are expected.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in IT, mathematics, natural sciences or equivalent.
• Extensive Azure Cloud experience and cloud operations know-how.
• Experience reviewing software architectures and communicating findings.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Deploy Azure components in an international software team.
• Review architectures and support improvements for quality and security.
• Develop and maintain applications with the team to support business processes.
• Coordinate with Cloud Engineers for deployment, monitoring, and operations.

You can look forward to

• In an international software development team, you use your experience in cloud-native development to effectively deploy suitable Azure components
• You review software solutions and architecture concepts of external development partners, evaluate technical solution approaches, and support improvements to ensure our quality, security, and operational requirements are met
• You further develop existing applications together with the team and ensure that they reliably support our business processes
• You connect development and operations, work closely with Cloud Engineers and support deployment, monitoring and the stable operation of productive systems. In doing so, you use modern technologies such as AI agents for coding

You come equipped with

• Completed degree in (Business) Information Technology, Mathematics, Natural Sciences or a comparable qualification
• Solid professional experience as a Software or Cloud Engineer with a focus on Azure Cloud Services
• Several years of experience in reviewing software architectures, technical concepts, and source code, as well as the ability to communicate assessments and identified optimization potential appropriately to different audiences
• Know-how in Infrastructure as Code, for example Terraform, as well as a good understanding of cloud operations, security, networking, and monitoring
• Good knowledge of requirements engineering as well as experience with agile ways of working such as Scrum or Kanban
• Business-fluent German and conversational English, as well as enjoyment of working in an international environment
