Job summary

Shimadzu Europa GmbH in Duisburg seeks a Service engineer or technician (m/f/d) for HPLC. You will support service engineers, train staff, and handle installation, maintenance and repair of LC equipment across Europe.

A degree in electronics, chemistry, or physics and LC experience are required, plus strong English and some German, with travel readiness and a valid B driver's license. Flexible hours and development opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in electronics, chemistry, physics or related field.
• Professional service or chemical analysis experience in LC is preferred.
• Good command of English; willingness to learn German.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Shimadzu service engineers for LC products via phone, email or remote
• Train field service engineers at the Duisburg training center and create digital training content
• Install, maintain, repair and instruct equipment at our site and in European countries
• Coordinate with Shimadzu Corporation and report on supported products

Service engineer or technician (m/f/d) for HPLC in full time (37,5 hours/week)

Your mission at Shimadzu:

• You will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to Shimadzu’s service engineers regarding LC products, via phone, email, or remote support
• Your responsibilities also include training our field service engineers usually at the training center in Duisburg and creation of digital training content for our internal e-learning platform
• Your remit will also include installation, maintenance, repair and instruction of equipment at our company and in the European countries where we operate
• You will act as a contact with Shimadzu Corporation, headquartered in Japan, ensuring smooth communication and reporting for the products you support

This is you:

• You hold a master's or bachelor's degree in electronics, chemistry, physics, or a related field, or possess equivalent qualifications
• You have already gained professional experience in technical service or chemical analysis in the field of Liquid Chromatography
• You have a very good command of written and spoken English and a good knowledge of German or the willingness to learn the German language
• You are proficient in the use of Windows OS and MS Office applications
• You are capable of working independently and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You possess strong communication skills, professional demeanor and self-confidence
• You are highly flexible and willing to travel
• You have a class B driver's license
