Job summary

Optimus Search Limited in the Munich area is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Aerospace) to lead embedded software and hardware integration across RTOS and Embedded Linux platforms. You will deploy runtimes, validate interfaces, and support qualification activities for space-grade systems.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded development, experience with CAN, SPI, UART, and knowledge of satellite OBCs and subsystem integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a relevant field
• 5+ years of embedded programming on RTOS and Embedded Linux
• Experience with CAN, SPI, UART interfaces
• Knowledge of satellite OBCs and system-level concepts
• Clearance from government/defense constraints is required

Responsibilities

• Integrate and deploy the runtime across embedded Linux and RTOS-based environments
• Configure and maintain OBC and establish communication with satellite subsystems
• Implement and validate hardware interfaces
• Develop and operate SiL and HiL test facilities
• Perform board bring-up, hardware-level debugging and system verification, investigating timing behaviour, network performance, faults and resource constraints
• Connect and validate RF and optical terminals, avionics components and representative subsystem hardware
• Coordinate integration activities with customers, suppliers, and external engineering partners
• Support hardware and software qualification

Desired Skills and Experience

• Completed a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or similar
• 5+ years in embedded programming on RTOS and Embedded Linux
• Experience in communication interfaces, such as CAN, SPI, and UART
• Knowledge of satellite OBCs and system-level knowledge
