SBG Associates Ltd in Immenstaad, Germany, seeks a Senior Embedded Developer to design, implement, and test software for SoCs, boards, and custom hardware used in satellite technology.

You will work with RTOS, embedded Linux, FPGAs, and drivers, collaborate across teams, and help prototypes reach production while documenting architectures and integration best practices. English fluency is required; basic German helps.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 2–5+ years in embedded software development with C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of RTOS, embedded Linux, SoCs, FPGAs, and board bring-up.
• Solid understanding of device drivers and communication protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP).
• Proficient with Git and English; basic German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test embedded software for SoCs, evaluation boards, and custom hardware platforms.
• Develop low-level drivers, middleware, and application-layer software for prototypes.
• Integrate third-party SDKs with internal modules and assist in hardware/software co-design.
• Support rapid prototyping, testing, and validation of satellite communication tech.
• Document software architecture, integration processes, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and test embedded software for SoCs, evaluation boards, and custom hardware platforms
• Develop low-level drivers, middleware, and application-layer software to support proof-of-concepts and system prototypes
• Integrate third-party SDKs alongside internal modules, contributing to hardware/software co-design and debugging efforts
• Support rapid prototyping, testing, and validation of next-generation satellite communication technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to clear documentation of software architecture, integration processes, and best practices

Your Profile:

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2--5+ years of experience in embedded software development using C/C++ (Python is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with RTOS, embedded Linux, SoCs, FPGAs, and board bring-up
• Solid understanding of device drivers, communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, TCP/IP, 3GPP 5G/6G), and version control (Git) Real time
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset
• Fluent in English; basic German skills are a plus
