Job summary

Siemens IT IPS seeks a Solution Architect for IT/OT Security Platforms to define the technical vision and architecture that supports Siemens' Zero Trust and digitalization strategy across factories and partners.

You will design scalable, secure solutions, guide integration into brownfield environments, and work with cybersecurity teams, service owners, and technology partners to drive adoption and standardized architecture.

Qualifications

• University degree in IT, CS, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Strong Zero Trust and OT Security Architecture expertise.
• 3+ years OT Infrastructure and Brownfield Integration experience.
• Platform and Enterprise Architecture experience (3+ years).
• Experience with API integration, automation and AI/Analytics.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve target architecture for IT/OT Security Platforms (SINEC Secure Connect).
• Define secure IT/OT communication concepts based on Zero Trust principles.
• Assist factories in integrating modern security and management solutions into brownfield environments.
• Translate business, security, and operational requirements into scalable architectures and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with factories, security teams, service owners, vendors and partners to drive standards and adoption.
• Define integration concepts between connectivity services, monitoring, automation and enterprise systems.
• Evaluate new technologies and contribute to evolution of Siemens IT/OT security platforms.
• Enable data-driven and AI-supported operational use cases and secure data flows.

As a Solution Architect (f/m/d) for our IT/OT Security Platforms

You will work closely with factories, cybersecurity experts, service managers, product teams, and technology partners to design scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions that support Siemens' Zero Trust and digitalization strategy.

What part will you play?

• You design and evolve the target architecture for our IT/OT Security Platforms (SINEC Secure Connect), ensuring alignment with Siemens cybersecurity, operational, and business requirements.
• You define secure IT/OT communication concepts based on Zero Trust principles and develop architectures for remote access, machine connectivity, application communication, and future AI-driven use cases.
• You support Siemens factories in integrating modern security and management solutions into existing brownfield environments, considering legacy systems, industrial protocols, and operational constraints.
• You translate business, security, and operational requirements into scalable platform architectures, governance models, technical standards, and implementation roadmaps.
• You collaborate with factories, cybersecurity teams, service owners, vendors, and technology partners to establish architecture standards and drive service adoption across Siemens.
• You define integration concepts between connectivity services, monitoring solutions, automation frameworks, and enterprise systems.
• You evaluate new technologies and architecture patterns and contribute to the continuous evolution of Siemens' IT/OT security and platform landscape.
• You enable data-driven and AI-supported operational use cases by designing architectures that support secure data flows, automation, analytics, and platform interoperability.
• You actively shape the journey to AI-native OT security services.

What You Bring To The Table

• Education: You have a university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience & Skills:
  • You possess strong expertise in Zero Trust and OT Security Architecture, including concepts such as identity-centric networking, PKI, certificate lifecycle management, and industry frameworks such as NIST SP 800-207 and IEC 62443.
  • You have proven experience with OT Infrastructure and Brownfield Integration (of at least 3+ years), including industrial environments, legacy systems, machine-to-machine communication, industrial protocols, network segmentation, and hybrid IT/OT architectures.
  • You are experienced in Platform and Enterprise Architecture (of at least 3+ years) and can translate business and security requirements into scalable technical solutions, governance models, operating concepts, and technology roadmaps.
  • You possess strong capabilities in Platform Integration, Automation, AI and Analytics, including API-based integration, monitoring, automation, operational data flows, and AI-ready platform design.
  • You are able to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and successfully align diverse stakeholder groups.
• Ways of working:
  • You work in a structured and strategic manner and are comfortable operating in international and cross-functional environments.
  • You provide your support during Central European Time Zone (CET).
• Languages: Fluent English skills complete your profile. German language skills are beneficial.
