Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead on-site construction of major battery energy storage projects in Germany. You will manage subcontractors, coordinate civil and electrical works, and ensure safe delivery from mobilisation through commissioning and handover.

• Maintain site health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Monitor construction progress against agreed schedules and budgets.
• Resolve site issues and manage interfaces between contractors.
• Review contractor performance, variations and outstanding works.
• Report progress, risks and resource requirements to project leadership.
• Coordinate commissioning readiness, inspections and project handover.

About the Company

A growing German energy infrastructure business developing and delivering major battery storage projects across the country. The company is expanding its construction team to support the delivery of large-scale BESS assets.

The Opportunity

The company is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead on-site construction of major BESS projects. You will manage contractors, coordinate civil and electrical works, and oversee safe delivery from site mobilisation through to commissioning and handover. This is an on-site role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day construction activities on large-scale BESS projects.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams across all work packages.
• Coordinate civil works, electrical installation and grid connection interfaces.
• Maintain site health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Monitor construction progress against agreed schedules and budgets.
• Resolve site issues and manage interfaces between contractors.

About You

• Relevant engineering, construction or technical qualification.
• Several years of site management experience on major energy or infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering utility-scale BESS projects, or large solar projects with substantial electrical infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and complex construction activities.
• Strong understanding of civil and electrical works, site safety and quality requirements.
• Confident managing schedules, resolving technical issues and driving contractor performance.
• Structured, practical and comfortable taking responsibility on site.
• Willing and able to work on site throughout the construction phase.
• Fluent German and good English skills.
