Job summary

Bikeleasing Group is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to shape and drive our technology ecosystem. You will own testing in an agile feature team, implement best practices in test automation, and participate in architecture discussions.

The role emphasizes Kotlin-based automation with Serenity BDD, frontend and backend testing, and collaboration with developers, product owners, and stakeholders. Remote work is available with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing with a focus on test automation.
• Strong OO approach to test automation; experience with Kotlin or Java; willingness to learn Kotlin.
• Hands-on frontend and backend testing (web and REST) with Serenity BDD or Selenium-based frameworks; Rest Assured familiarity.
• Able to perform manual testing, including test management; understands CI/CD pipelines and IaC basics.
• Strong English (working language) and German at least B2 for stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of testing in an agile feature team, collaborating with colleagues.
• Implement best practices in test case creation, test automation, test documentation and test case management.
• Automate test cases using Kotlin, primarily with Serenity BDD.
• Contribute to architectural decisions regarding our test automation setup.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

In this role, you actively help shape and drive our technology ecosystem forward. • You are responsible for all aspects of the testing process in an agile feature team — of course never alone, but always together with your colleagues
• You implement best practices in test case creation, test automation, as well as test documentation and test case management
• You automate test cases using Kotlin, and in most cases with the Serenity BDD framework
• You contribute to architectural decisions regarding our test automation setup
• You take part in code reviews and technical discussions

Your strengths

• You have at least 5 years of experience in software testing with a focus on test automation, and ideally have ISTQB knowledge/certification
• You are proficient in object-oriented approaches to test automation and have experience with Kotlin or Java, plus the willingness to learn Kotlin
• You have hands‑on experience with frontend and backend testing (web and REST). Ideally, you’ve worked with Serenity BDD or other Selenium-based frameworks, and you’re also familiar with Rest Assured
• You can independently carry out manual testing, including test management, and you understand the basics of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• You have strong English skills (working language) and speak German at least at B2 level for communication with stakeholders
