We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team and help us raise the bar on quality at Oscar.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our platform through a mix of manual and automated testing. Working closely with our cross-functional product and engineering teams, you’ll help shape quality standards, prevent issues before they reach production, and mentor QA colleagues.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments, and brings a sharp eye for detail, a strong sense of user empathy, and a passion for quality. If you have solid experience with both automation and manual testing, and a track record of delivering high-quality results—especially in mobility or startup environments—we’d love to hear from you.

We’re remote-first and hiring within Spain, Germany, or the Netherlands, with regular in-person team events at our Munich HQ to stay connected and build team culture.

In addition to remote work, we value team culture, that’s why we often gather for in-person team events at our headquarters in Munich.

Responsibilities

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will:

• Perform manual and automated testing to ensure our platform's functionality, performance, and reliability on web and mobile applications.
• Automate tests for web and mobile applications to improve efficiency and reliability
• Conduct regular test cycles (e.g., regression, integration, system tests) to identify issues early.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product, designers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
• Manage the testing process, including creating and maintaining test cases, executing tests, and documenting results.
• Identify areas for improvement in our QA processes and implement best practices
• Assess potential risks and help mitigate them to ensure smooth project progression.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Experience

• Several years of experience in QA roles, with a strong focus on both automation and manual testing.
• Proficiency in automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, etc.
• Experience with understanding user behavior and applying it to testing strategies.
• Solid knowledge of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work with complex products and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to quality assurance.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Experience on a marketplace platform or mobility is a plus.
• Work remotely from Spain, Germany, or the Netherlands and visit Munich to have on-site events once in a while
